I was able to get a photo of a reclusive Christmas Reindeer in its natural habitat. They usually blend in so well that you never actually see them. I managed to see two this year.
Sometimes in life we are too busy looking ahead, looking for answers or rewards. We spend our time trying to accumulate things, improve our status or impress others. We often look outside ourselves for validation or direction. I’ve decided to stop and look around, appreciate what’s around me and be grateful for it. I’ve decided to stop looking at what I want and instead look at what I have. I’ve decided to take a closer look at life, this is my life…close up.

Individual Style
This Christmas Eve family gathered around to eat and chat and admire the unique violet Christmas tree with its silver, white, purple and ivory ornaments. What a free spirit, love it!

Birthday Treats
My granddaughter turned 6! We had cookies and cupcakes and then candy, well, the kids had candy, I was too big for the pinata. Funny how fast a group of sweet six year old girls turn vicious when you give them a broom handle and a pretty box filled with candy to bash.

Elves - New & Old
Ok, so now seeing the new elf, he does make my childhood one look a little ragity and maybe even a little creepy...but the idea is the same and the style. I love both my elves.

School Concert
The thing about going to a school concert is getting a good seat, very tricky. One year I showed up and jackets were spread across rows and rows of seats, but no one in sight. Next time, I sat in the second row only to have a whole new section open up closer to the kids. When I finally get the front row, they stick a large boy infront of my petit granddaughter or the microphone is right in her face. This year I was in luck!! First there, no bulky boy or microphone and luckily the girl infront of her loved to dance so she allowed me many photo opportunities. (Not sure why she never gets front row, she is quite small, I on the other hand, was always the girl in the back row next to the boys.)

My New Old Decoration
I have had an elf sit in my christmas tree my whole childhood and he looks just like this. He was my favorite decoration to put on the tree and I made my mother promise me that she'd leave it to me. When I told me mother about how this elf has made it's come back, she told me that our elf was actually my grandmother's! How old is that! I'll get a photo of our old elf and compare, I am now the proud owner of an Elf on a Shelf. His name is Ernie.

Christmas Time Again
Time to decorate the tree. When you enlist the help of a 5 7/8th year old you tend to get clusters of decorations.

Treasure
There is something magical and sad about apples left on a tree. The leaves disappear and let you see what they've been hiding but yet, there they are, all alone.
